Internal Training
Restorative Justice Training
Passerelles de justice réparatrice has developed a training path based on 25 years of practice in restorative justice specialized in related crimes, including a strong community dimension.
This training path is designed for individuals wishing to get involved in our restorative justice encounters as community members or facilitators.
Step 1: Introduction to Restorative Justice
An asynchronous online training lasting approximately 4 hours covering the history of restorative justice, its foundations, basic notions of victimology and criminology, services offered at Passerelles de justice réparatrice, and including a written exercise. This training is a prerequisite for the second step.
Step 2: Participation in Restorative Justice Encounters
A half-day, in-person weekend training that concretely explores the role and involvement of community members in restorative justice encounters.
Individuals who have completed and passed these 2 steps will eventually be invited to participate in a restorative justice encounter as a community member.
This training path is offered according to organizational needs.

Awareness-Raising
Restorative Justice Presentations and Testimonies
Restorative justice is best understood through the voices of those who have lived it
Passerelles de justice réparatrice is committed to making restorative justice known to as many people as possible. Our team travels to present this approach and its encounter model to college and university students, community organizations, at symposiums and conferences, as well as during public or professional events.
What makes our presentations unique: whenever possible, they include firsthand testimony from someone who took part in a restorative justice process with Passerelles de justice réparatrice. This testimony gives participants a voice and provides continuity in their healing and reparation journey. It is a contribution that brings deep meaning and grounds the approach in real life for the audience.

Restorative Justice Art Exhibition
We are pleased to offer the opportunity to present restorative justice through the art exhibition Réparer le vivant by Micky McLaughlin, in the presence of the artist.

About the Artist
A digital artist and survivor of a criminal act, Micky McLaughlin took part in a restorative justice process that deeply marked her journey
About the Exhibition
Titled Réparer le vivant, her exhibition features five deeply moving digital art pieces expressing the feelings awakened by her restorative justice journey. Her artistic approach is guided by the desire to "tell in pictures the possible journey of survivors trying to restore the ties that connect them to life". She is particularly drawn to the gray area separating the "before" from the "after". Her works offer insight into the path and restorative justice experience of someone who was the victim of a crime.

Who Can Host the Exhibition?
We offer organizations serving people who have experienced or committed abuse or violence the opportunity to host an Exhibition and Discussion session with artist Micky McLaughlin. Having already presented in five halfway houses, we wish to continue this initiative, which raises awareness of restorative justice and sheds light on the journey of someone who has been a victim and the consequences of crime.
Would you like to host an Exhibition and Discussion event with your community and artist Micky McLaughlin? Contact us to learn more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the internal training path intended for?
This training path is designed for anyone wishing to get actively involved in our organization, whether as a community member (providing a caring, supportive presence) or as a facilitator (facilitating or co-facilitating encounters). There are no strict academic prerequisites to begin Step 1, but strong listening skills and human sensitivity are essential for the rest of the journey.
Is it mandatory to complete all steps of the training path?
Yes, if your goal is to actively participate in restorative justice encounters. Each step builds upon the learnings of the previous one: the online introduction (Step 1) establishes the necessary theoretical foundation before addressing emotion management in person (Step 2). Step 3 sessions are then specialized according to the role you choose.
What are the costs associated with the training?
Our training sessions are offered free of charge or on a voluntary contribution basis for individuals who commit to volunteering as community members or facilitators within our community. For external training, please contact us for more details regarding our rates.
When will the next internal training cohorts take place?
The training path is offered on an ad hoc basis, depending on organizational needs and the number of applications received. To make sure you do not miss out and to express your interest now, we invite you to write to us directly by email.
Do you offer customized training for organizations?
Absolutely! In addition to our regular pathway for individuals, the Passerelles de justice réparatrice team travels to professional, institutional, and educational settings to facilitate awareness workshops and meetings tailored to your needs. Contact us to discuss your project.
How can we organize a restorative justice presentation in our institution or organization?
It's very simple! Our team adapts each presentation to your setting and your goals. Contact us specifying your target audience, desired date, and activity format. Together, we will agree on the arrangements for the presentation.
Do the presentations always include a personal testimony?
Whenever possible, our presentations include firsthand testimony from someone who has taken part in a restorative justice journey with us. Their sharing brings a concrete, lived, and deeply moving perspective to the event. The speaker's attendance is confirmed on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature of the event and scheduling availability.
What are the requirements to host the "Réparer le vivant" art exhibition?
The Exhibition and Discussion session with artist Micky McLaughlin is primarily aimed at organizations serving individuals who have experienced or committed abuse and violence (e.g., shelters for women victims of violence, halfway houses, various resource centers).
All that is required is a space suitable for displaying the 5 digital art pieces and a setting conducive to group discussions.
Contact us to check the artist's availability and plan the activity.
Reimbursement of expenses is encouraged, and a donation to our organization is appreciated.
Ready to begin your training?
